Twenty Years Shooting Corporate Gauteng: What’s Changed and What Hasn’t

I started shooting corporate events in Gauteng before most of my clients had email addresses. In 1995, I was printing calendars and T-shirts in Doornfontein. By 2002, I was the graduation photographer at Wits University. In 2006, I registered EMT Photography CC and started building the corporate portfolio that now includes SAB, MNET, Denel Dynamics, Transnet Foundation and the City of Ekurhuleni. Over 20 years, almost everything about corporate event photography has changed: cameras went from film to digital to mirrorless, delivery went from courier to FTP to cloud galleries, and the turnaround expectation dropped from two weeks to 24 hours. But some things haven’t changed at all: clients still want sharp images, delivered fast, shot by someone who understands the room.
